From research to recovery: the quest for a healthy, pain-free spine. The plan: A hybrid procedure of artificial disc replacement and fusion to my lumbar spine in September 2011 in England. I hope you learn something if you're here for your own research. I hope you're comforted by reading my steady progress if you're here for me. And mostly, I hope you realize that I appreciate all positive and helpful comments, suggestions, and interest in my journey to a healthier spine.

2015 - wow
Not too much to say about my spine specifically, other than still blessed and thankful that I really don't think about it much! Never a pain, ache, twinge, or fear. I AM very thoughtful about my footing in this icy, Indiana weather. I will break an arm before I allow my butt hit the ground! (I did that when pregnant with my first child, so I know it can be done if need be!)
My tailbone, however, is a bit grumpy. It did not appreciate the antiquated airplane ride on Sunday. I'm guessing it was equivilant to sitting on concrete for 2 hours. Three days later and my tailbone is just starting to calm down. That's a first. Well worth the trip to visit an old friend suffering a great loss.
I still get inquiries on what I had done from family, close friends, distant friends, and complete strangers. I am happy to share.
3 years, 3 months and going strong with my two little buddies in tow.
